Ellie & Tucker

When people think of Haunted Hill View Manor, some the spirits that come to mind are Jeffrey, Angelo, Eli, Mary Virginia, and George. These are some of our well known resident spirits that have been communicating with guests for years. But they aren’t the only spirits here. We have “new” spirits, or at least new to communicating with us.

In the early days when the building was the Lawrence County Home for the Aged, the 3rd floor was the medical wing. Residents who needed to be closely watched by the medical staff were housed on this floor.

During the Covid-19 shutdown, our staff would come to Hill View several times a week for walkthroughs and weekly livestreams where we shared information about the building, it’s history, and let the public join our investigations virtually. We began exploring other less well known areas of the building.

Tucked away in the corner of the 3rd floor is room 302, where there have been reports for years about the spirits of children haunting the room. Many of the stories were passed on by former staff members who reported seeing a little girl skipping and dancing, and a young boy playing on the floor. While investigating in this room, we made contact with 2 children – Ellie and Tucker.

They are both sweet and friendly, but it may take some time for them to warm up to guests as they are afraid of adults. Ellie loves dolls, whirligigs, and anything that sparkles. Tucker prefers to play with  balls, toy trucks, and loves Jack in the box. They both enjoy games like Ring around the Rosie and psychics have reported that they’ve played leapfrog and tag with them.

After some research, it was discovered their room was used as a childrens dormitory during the Tuberculosis epidemic in the late 20’s.

When you visit us, make sure you take some time to visit Ellie and Tucker. They may be new to us, but they are much loved part of our Haunted Hill View Manor family, and we look forward to learning more about them in the future.
