In the heart of New Castle, Pennsylvania, stands Hill View Manor, a building with nearly a century of history, mystery, and heart. This year marks its 100th anniversary, a remarkable milestone for one of the region’s most unique and storied landmarks. For many, Hill View Manor isn’t just a building. It’s a living piece of local history and a gathering place for those drawn to its haunted charm and unmistakable spirit.
Hill View Manor’s story is deeply personal for its owner, Carrie. Her mother purchased the building in 2005, seeing not just old walls and faded halls, but a place filled with life, memory, and wonder. After her mother’s passing, Carrie and her brother Greg took over the task of preserving the building and keeping its legacy alive. When Greg passed away in 2016, the responsibility fell solely to Carrie, a mission she has carried forward with incredible dedication and love.
Over the years, Hill View Manor has become a beloved destination for visitors, historians, and paranormal enthusiasts from all over. Many come seeking its ghostly tales; others simply admire its character and the steadfast devotion that has kept it standing strong. But now, that future is at risk.
The roof over major parts of Hill View Manor is in critical condition. Once maintained only through patchwork when the building was under county ownership, large sections are now severely damaged and need urgent replacement. Without this work, significant portions of the 80,000+ square foot structure may become unsafe or unusable, threatening both the building’s integrity and the experiences it offers the community.
Carrie has already invested heavily in preservation efforts, completing two major roof projects in 2017. But such a massive undertaking simply can’t be completed all at once. This fundraiser will directly support the next phase of roof repair, carried out by a trusted local roofing company. Supporting local businesses has always been a cornerstone of Hill View Manor’s mission, and every dollar raised will go right back into restoring the structure and safeguarding its future.
By contributing to this campaign, you’re not just helping fix a roof, you’re helping preserve a century of stories, memories, and local heritage. You’re helping keep a place alive that has brought fascination, connection, and even comfort to countless visitors.
With your support, we can keep the spirit (and spirits) of Hill View Manor alive for generations to come.
Donate today to help save the roof, protect the history, and ensure this one-of-a-kind building continues to stand proud for another 100 years.
